Thanks for stopping by my happy corner of internet land to catch up with what has been going on in the world of Modern Barn Blocks.  Here you'll hear the latest on what has been going on behind the scenes at Put a Quilt on It as well as links and photos for some other things I have been feeling and loving these past few weeks.

Quilt Sampler photo by A Quilter's Corner

How I'm feeling:

Stoked!  Several months ago I received word that one of our wholesale customers was selected by Better Homes and Gardens to be featured in the massive semi-annual publication Quilt Sampler as one of the nation's top shops!  It was such a huge honor for the shop to be chosen and photographed for this magazine.  I have seen a sneak peek at a couple of the photos and I'm thrilled to see a handful of some of our favorite barn blocks on display at the shop.  If you're anywhere near Erie, Colorado, be sure to stop in to A Quilter's Corner.  They have a fun atmosphere and I'm sure you'll agree with BH&G that they are indeed a top shop.  ***Just added - you can watch a little behind the scenes video interview with Marci here. Quilt Sampler magazine should hit newsstands on May 15.***

4th Birthday Celebration

What I'm up to:

My daughter's 4th birthday was last week and I am finally recovering from all things pink and sparkly and princess.  We like to have her birthday parties at our home, but it is always so much more work to prepare, decorate and cook for everyone than I remember.  My sewing always takes a back seat when special occasions come up, but I'm happy that she had a great day celebrating with her close friends and family.

Barn Block latest:

We finally listed the Sedona block on the shop!  Get your order in quick because this was a limited edition print and a small number are left.  Two of our most popular blocks (this one and this one) have just recently sold out!

Mini Play Room Barn Quilt

Did you see the adorable kids play house with our mini barn block?  After seeing this photo, I  immediately went and added some mini barn blocks to our kids' play structure.

Kinder Patchwork Sky quilt by Put a Quilt on It

Under the needle:

My latest baby quilt is done!  I've been working on the Thimble Blossoms Patchwork Sky quilt to give as a gift.  It is finally all quilted and the binding has been attached.  Now all that's left to do is get a good photo before I give it away!

Local flowers from Happy Road Farm

Stuff I love:

  • Do you follow Heather Ross (@heatherrossinsta) on Instagram?  It's no secret that I'm a huge Heather Ross fan and I love the little school notes and drawings that she shares on her account.  Last week she shared a few thoughts on purchasing handmade quilts and it really spoke to a lot of us quilters.  Find her here.
  • I recently discovered a fellow female entrepreneur who lives just down the street for me.  She has her own flower business and she generously picked some extra flowers (above) for me when I told her about the birthday party we were hosting.  Between the flowers and the super fresh strawberries from our local strawberry farm, I felt like we were enjoying all of the best our small town has to offer this time of year.
  • Fat Quarter Shop has just announced their latest sew along and it features barn blocks.  Probably some of you reading along would find this to be a perfect project to take on this next year.
  • I love reading this blog for inspiration and delicious recipes.  She recently touched on redirecting negative thoughts which was especially poignant for me since I shared a little bit here.

Don't compare your life to others.  There's no comparison between the sun and the moon, they shine when it's their time.
